Make your own Wedding Invitations?
DIY Wedding invitations are a fun way to create your invitations and stationery while saving you money and giving your event a unique flair! here you will find tips and wording templates to help you make your own invitations!

Decorate your wedding invitations
When you make your own invitations you can make them exactly as you want them to look. DIY your invitations and you can have the exact colours, papers, and words. There is no searching and searching for the perfect dream invite, or settling for the closest to what you had in mind. When you use do it yourself invitations to make your own invitations you get exactly what you want.

DIY Wedding Ivitations Save you money!
Handmade invitations can cost 10 – 20 dollars each, ouch.  Cut the amount of money spent in half if not more by making them yourself. On top of that they were much more elegant than what I might have ordered or bought. When my guests found that I had made them myself they were surprised! I even got a couple of requests for me to make invitations for some of their upcoming

This step will be tailored to your event.  In most cases your party already has a theme.  It is a good idea to announce this theme not only with the wording of your invitation but also the style of your invitation.   Although this step simply speaks for itself I will explain further.  For a beach theme wedding you may like to include a beach theme in your invitations and matching stationery, a heart in the sand design for example.

Choosing a format is a card making basic step that will shape the entire process. Do you want this card to be the traditional open and close kind of format? What size will it be? Or do you want them to be postcard invitations? Again there are lots of choices to consider here. Card making can be as creative and elaborate, or simple and easy as you want!

There are many things to consider when choosing paper and card stock.  Your theme will help you to choose colours patterns or images.  You also need to consider the weight or thickness (gsm) of the paper or card.  Card and paper weight is measured by ‘gsm’, the higher the number the thicker the card.  To give you an idea regular copy paper is 80gsm.

This one doesn't always come easy. Especially for a wedding invitation! Luckily for you we have a FREE wording gallery to help you out with this! Check out my section on invitation wording to help get you started. You can use my wording exactly as it is, or mix and match to create exactly what you are looking for!

This is a very important step to card making.  The crisp look of printed words is generally better than hand writing handwriting unless you have access to a calligrapher.  All our stationery comes with easy print wording templates, then, all you have to do is select the font for your wording.  The font you choose should also match the theme of your invitation and stationery.

Finishing Touches, adding your final embellishments and creativity.  Select and address the matching envelope.  Done!
